ProSafPlant accesses a cloud database of over 2,500 process safety questions / inspection items in 20 different process plant / equipment modules as listed below.
Modules include Centrifugal Process Pumps, Piping Systems, PSV / PRVs, Fired Process Heaters, Process Buildings, Electrical / MCC Buildings, Packaged Steam Boilers, Flare Systems / Stacks, Atmospheric Storage Tanks and Loading, Cooling Towers, Control Buildings, Sulphur Recovery Units, LPG Storage Tanks and Loading, Underground Salt Cavern Storage, Reciprocating Gas Compressors / Engines, Pipeline Inlet / Sales Headers, Glycol Dehydrators, Diesel Generators, Stores Warehouses, and Power Transformers / Switchyards.
Examples of questions include:
The Process Pumps module has 92 questions, e.g. "Are small bore connections on pump case welded, not threaded?", "Is pump base and grouting in good shape, anchor bolts secured, no loose shims, no “soft feet”? Jack bolts retracted?", "Is the filter quick opening cover provided with a leak-before-opening safety design, or safety warning device?", "Is pump on routine vibration monitoring PdM? Are specific measurement points shown?”.
The Process Piping / Attachments module has 265 questions, e.g. "Is the check valve an SCE (safety critical equipment) item, either due to a safeguard under the HazOp or IPL under LOPA / SIL Assessment? If so, is it identified as such and documented PM procedures and failure data acquisition program in place?", "Is the control valve experiencing any abnormal flow-induced or equipment vibration, cycling or noise that could lead to wear and/or failure?", "Are there any dead legs, e.g. closed valves in long vertical drain or vent piping that could experience accelerated corrosion or freeze?”
The Control Building and Work Station module has 131 questions, e.g. "Are lighting levels in the control room adequate (e.g. 300 lux at VDUs (video display units) and 600 to 1000 lux for table reading)?", "Are CCTV cameras provided for critical process areas, flares, etc. with pan, tilt, rotate and zoom?", "Is there an MOC / Alarm Bypass procedure for disabling DCS / BPCS, SIS or other critical safety interlock functions?", "Are there an unacceptable number of nuisance alarms that stay in alarm for long periods (standing / stale) (e.g. weeks or months)?", "Are control building drains completely separated from (no inter-connections to) process or lab sewers? Reliance on traps not recommended."
